The Dream:

On our 25th year of marriage (45yrs old) we will quit our good paying, rewarding jobs, sell off our stuff and paddle across Canada to a new home on Vancouver Island.  If our love prevails, we will renew our wedding vows on the lawn of our new home where I will make a living from canoes and adventure.

The Plan:

The next 11 years will be focused on saving for our partial retirement at 45 and researching the best route.

The Route:

Although Ottawa, Mattawa, French, Georgian Bay, Superior, Lake Winnipeg,  Churchill, Methye Portage,  Clearwater, Athabasca, Peace, and Fraser seems the most common I am leaning towards going over the Rockies, perhaps on one of David Thompson's routes.  Currently debating on the Saskatchewan Crossing, Athabasca Pass, or the Miette River (HWY 16).

I welcome any comments or links that I can add to this page that would help us decide and anyone else who is searching to define themselves by Canoeing Cross Canada.
